It’s that time of the year again when you hear the wedding bells ring loud and clear. And, with them, comes the wedding shenanigans to spread cheer, joy, happiness, and mirth. What’s a wedding if you don’t do it celebrity style—whether it be an intimate occasion or one that is replete with a thousand wedding guests (if not more!), shandaar DJ and all that jazz?

So, let’s get going with the celebrity weddings during this pre-weekend and weekend.

Farhan Akhtar & Shibani Dandekar Wedding

Bollywood director and actor, Farhan Akhtar and actor-singer, Shibani Dandekar tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on February 19. It was a close gathering that was graced only by the friends and family of the bride and the groom. It took place at Farhan’s parents’. Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi, Khandala home, Sukoon. The court wedding will be held on February 21. The couple had been dating since the year 2018.

The pre-wedding ceremony started on February 17, with a host of celebrities making a beeline to Farhan’s Mumbai residence that was lavishly decorated with lights and flowers. Farhan and Shibani met on the sets of the reality TV show, I Can Do It, in the year 2005, where the former was the host and the latter was a participant. It was only much later that they started dating and made their first official appearance as a couple at Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding reception in 2018.

The wedding was attended by the couple’s B-town friends like Hrithik Roshan, Shankar Mahadevan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Rhea Chakraborty, Amrita Arora, Ashutosh Gowarikar, among others. The couple danced to the tunes of his directorial, Dil Chahta Hai. Hrithik Roshan was seen grooving to the same song with Farhan in a video that has now gone viral.

At their wedding, Farhan wore a classic black suit while Shibani was seen in a red gown with a veil of the same colour to go with it.

Steal Her Look: Shibani Dandekar’s Modern Bridal Gown

Perfect for the modern Indian bride, like Shibani, you too can opt for a fishtail gown or gown-style silhouette with a veil to match. Based on your body type, you could keep the neckline off-shoulder or opt for a wide boat cut neck that can be complemented with a beautifully studded neckpiece.

Long wedding veils are actually quite the wedding trend and have been around since Priyanka Chopra was seen in her wedding outfit with a 75-foot wedding veil when she married Nick Jonas. If you’re looking to make a statement, this is the way to go!

Vikrant Massey & Sheetal Thakur Wedding

Vikrant Massey and Sheetal Thakur took their wedding vows on February 18 at their Himachal Pradesh village. The two had gotten engaged in an equally intimate roka ceremony in November 2019. The traditional wedding was preceded by a registered marriage in Mumbai on February 14. The couple had met in the sets of ALTBalaji’s Broken But Beautiful and had started dating soon after. They dated for about seven years before tying the knot.

Vikrant was dressed in an ivory sherwani and pink turban while Sheetal looked magnificent in a red bridal lehenga, well complemented with traditional gold jewellery. Another picture shared by Vikrant on social media showed the couple taking their pheras around the holy fire while holding hands, and the third picture shows the bride taking a candid picture while holding his face. Vikrant took to Instagram to share his wedding pictures. He captioned it as, “Saal saalo ka ye safar aaj saat janmo mein badal gaya. Is safar me humara saath dene ke liye bahut bahut shukriya. Sheetal evam Vikrant. 18.02.2022.” The post was flooded with messages from his B-town co-stars, friends, and well wishes.
