The Winter Skincare Quiz: Take It Now!

The drop in temperatures is here to mess with your skin once again. Doesn’t it feel like someone is just sucking the life out of your pretty faces leaving you with nothing but dull, dry, pale-looking and dehydrated skin? It’s time to switch up your skincare routine to make it more season-appropriate. TC46 has created a little refresher in the form of a quiz on the dos and don’ts of winter skincare.

1. Take long, hot showers to stop your skin from depleting its oil barrier.
2. Reach out for your body lotion within 10-minutes post your shower to seal moisture in open pores.
3. Hand lotion must be carried at all times to keep your hands moisturised if not wearing gloves.
4. Since low temperatures suck the life out of your skin, over-exfoliate to remove the dead skin cells and help expedite the regeneration process.
5. Heaters are more effective than humidifiers. A hot shower is more effective than sitting in a room with a humidifier that’s adding moisture to the air.
6. Boost your skincare routine with hyaluronic acid to increase your skin’s hydration.
7. Change all your skincare products to help deal with winters.
8. For women with dry skin, only apply products with a liquid or fluid texture.
9. You don’t need to continue using sunscreen during the winter months because there’s no sun outside.
10. To prevent chapped lips during this time you need to apply a rich emollient lip balm that doesn’t have a waxy feel.
