Cooking For Kids by Kiddies Kitchen

Founded by Gayathri Vamsi in 2018, Buzzing Bees provides holistic education to kids in a creative and fun environment. One such program at Buzzing Bees is Kiddies Kitchen – a unique workshop for parents to emotionally engage and bond with their children through cooking, stories, games and even worksheets which also teaches safety measures to children which will promote their academic skills.

The pandemic has taught us that cooking is an important life skill. Inculcating healthy food habits at an early age is a significant component of parenting and Gayathri weaves it in her culinary skills as a tool to inspire and educate young kids. Cooking is not just about creating food – cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. It’s harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity.

Speaking about the unique program Kiddies Kitchen, Gayathri said, “Cooking, for me, is therapeutic, but I also consider it a life-skill; a handy tool to keep you alive (literally!), a great gender leveller, and a virtue to be acquired at an early age. Cooking is not only about preparing a dish it involves reading, comprehension, calculation, adjusting quantities as per individual requirement, food chemistry, teamwork, time management, planning and organising.  At our program Kiddies Kitchen, kids are exposed to the benefits of healthy eating and developing the right attitude to diet and fitness from an early age. Cooking is also about fun, creativity, bonding with the family and creating memorable moments. If you’re wondering about the right age to let kids into the kitchen, safety measures, age-appropriate kitchen roles, then Kiddies Kitchen is the workshop for you.”

At Kiddies Kitchen, the child will:

  • Learn how to handle kitchen tools and appliances
  • Become familiar with the culinary vocabulary
  • Get to hear stories about food from across the world
  • Learn to challenge themselves and step out of their comfort zones

The workshop is a blend of offline and live sessions available on an exclusive FB group.

The programs designed at Buzzing Bees are quite unique. The Emotional Intelligence workshops help to enhance the emotional well-being of the children and equip them to manage their own emotions and learn to empathise with others, and further helps them to build strong relationships. Some of the other programs apart from Kiddies Kitchen under Buzzing Bees are:

  • Reading Clubs: Reading club promotes children to read, understand and comprehend what they are reading
  • Mystic Mythology: Chanting shlokas is a deeply meditative exercise that helps boost concentration, and lowers tendency for violence and anger among children. In fact, several studies have proven that long-term chanting helps people live calmer lives, endure stress even in high-pressure jobs and trying circumstances, and live longer and healthier lives.

Buzzing Bees is an after-school enrichment centre opened on a mission to empower parents and children through various workshops and classes. To know more, visit the official Facebook page.

Natural Skin Care by Three Sisters Organics

The founders of Three Sisters Organics, Archana Kapur, Divya Samani and Muskan Singh, believe in nature and its power to provide for all our needs. Nature is like gold, and the brand believes, we should treasure it as it provides us with everything vital our body needs to be living.

Handcrafted Accessories by Urban Ethnic Bags

It was the late 2000s and Urvee Shah, the Founder and Creative Designer of Urban Ethnic Bags had recently completed her post-graduation in textiles to turn her love for bags into a career as a bag designer. A bag lover at heart, she set her foot in the world of bag designing with her startup, Urban Ethnic Bags, in 2009. The brand was founded with an artistic spirit and a high-minded objective: To offer designer bags at revolutionary prices, while paving way for local artistry.

Every idea is born from insight. With the founder being a bag enthusiast herself, it wasn’t hard to find the insight that there was a huge gap between the demand and supply ratio of designer bags in the Indian market. Though the journey of Urban Ethnic Bags began from solely manufacturing and retailing jute bags, the company found its true purpose when they decided to bridge the availability gap of designer bags among Indian women with a socially conscious business. The brand challenged the resourcefulness of technologically advanced brands with the uniqueness of their hand craftsmanship. They brought into the limelight the beauty of underrated local artwork by glorifying niche ethnic embroidery on our designer bags.

The brand designs everything from potlis, tote bags, evening clutches, travel bags, bag charms and much recently eco-friendly layered masks with embroidery. The bags are packed in different coloured cotton bags mainly made out of scraps of leftover fabrics. The label strong believes in ‘reuse and recycle’.

The target audience being uber chic women relates to the brand, as they sell designer bags which have been generally and popularly westernised, in designs that are ethnically pleasing and traditionally appealing. A sweet escape for fashionable women of Urban India, who value their ethnic roots. Through the customisation of products, they made the brand more flexible.

The words of appreciation by customers bear testimony to the determination, thoughtfulness and creativity channelised behind the creation of each and every product of the brand. The price of the products is from Rs 500 onward. They are available offline at the studio in Vadodara, Gujarat and on the website, LBB. And you can order on their Instagram and Facebook pages.
