1. Determine Your Face Shape: The first step in mastering contouring and highlighting is to determine your face shape. Different face shapes require different techniques, so it's important to identify your own face shape before getting started.

2. Choose the Right Products: To achieve a flawless contour and highlight, you'll need to choose the right products for your skin type and tone. Consider using a cream contour and highlight for a more natural look or a powder formula for a more dramatic effect.

3. Use the Right Tools: Using the right tools is just as important as choosing the right products. A fluffy brush or beauty blender can help blend out harsh lines and create a seamless finish.

4. Start Light and Build Up: It's always easier to add more product than to take it away, so start with a light hand and build up gradually until you achieve the desired effect.

5. Blend, Blend, Blend: Blending is the key to achieving a natural-looking contour and highlight. Use a clean brush or beauty blender to blend out any harsh lines and create a seamless finish.

6. Set with Powder: Finally, to ensure that your contour and highlight lasts all day, set it with a light dusting of translucent powder. This will help to lock in the product and prevent any smudging or fading.
