Fact 1 According to a tale that is believed in West Bengal, Ganesha went to cut a Banana tree and gave it to his mother saying; “This is your daughter-in-law”.
Fact 2 One of the stories says that Lord Ganesha broke his tusk & used it to write the rest of Mahabharata when the feather quill broke down in between.
Fact 3 Lord Ganesha is not only worshipped by Hindus but by Buddhists too. In Buddhism, he is referred to as Vinayaka and is worshipped in countries like Tibet, China, and Japan.
Fact 4 While in South India, it is believed that Ganesha is a Brahmacharya, it is generally believed that Lord Ganesha was married to the twin sisters Riddhi and Siddhi.
Fact 5 Apart from Mumbai & Pune, one place which flourished & mastered the art of making Ganesha idols is Maharashtra’s Pen district.
