Method: 

  1. Add chopped fruits to a bowl and pour the brandy/rum over it, toss it and set it aside for a few days. 
  2. To prepare the caramel, heat 4 tablespoons of sugar over medium heat. Once the sugar turns brown add ½ cup of hot water, stir and bring to a boil. Let it cool.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200-degree Celsius.
  4. Add all the dry ingredients, flour, baking powder, salt, spice powders, and sieve it. Whisk the butter and sugar together.
  5. Add only the egg yolks one by one to the butter mixture and mix it well. Now, add orange and lemon zest and vanilla essence to the mixture. 
  6. Toss the dry fruits in 1 tablespoon flour and add it to the mixture.

  1. Keep the dry fruits soaked in dark rum for 3 weeks. 
  2. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  3. Take a large bowl and add maida, baking soda, baking powder, dalchini powder, nutmeg, and sugar. 
  4. Then add vegetable oil, milk, yoghurt, vanilla essence, and ¼ cup of leftover rum from the soaked fruits and mix it well.
  5. Add the rum soaked dry fruits to the mixture and just fold the mixture using a spatula.
