10 DIY Body Scrubs For A Smooth Glowing Skin 

1. Strawberry Scrub 

This body scrub is packed with the goodness of strawberries for acne or inflammation, coconut for moisturisation and oats to exfoliate the skin.

How To Do It:

  1. Take 1 cup of raw sugar, ¼ cup of coconut oil and whole oats, and ¼ cup of pureed strawberries.
  2. Mix the ingredients in a bowl to form a rough textured paste.
  3. Apply it on your body for 2-3 minutes before washing it out. 

2. Chickpea Scrub

Popularly known as besan, it has been used in Indian face packs and scrubs for a long time. This ingredient helps reduce body breakouts and brings a natural glow to your skin. 

How To Do It:

  1. Mix 1 cup of besan flour, ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of dried peppermint and 10 drops of tea tree oil in a bowl.
  2. You can also use the leaves of a peppermint tea bag for the recipe.
  3. Mix all ingredients till well combined.
  4. Apply it when you are having a bath for smooth, glowing skin. 

3. Citrus Papaya Scrub

The flesh of the papaya and zesty citrus improves skin texture and boosts circulation. This warm and beautiful-smelling scrub will change your mood in an instant. 

How To Do It:

  1. Take ½ cup of sea salt and sugar along with ¼ cup of sunflower oil, 2 tablespoons of papaya, 10 drops of orange essential oil and a little zest of a lemon.
  2. Mix the ingredients till well combined.
  3. Gently exfoliate your body for 2-3 minutes before washing it out.

4. Sage & Honey Scrub

Honey is a natural moisturising agent that also helps with break out. The calming properties of honey and sage are sure to soothe your skin without drying it out. 

How To Do It:

  1.  Mix ½ cup of sugar with ¼ cup of olive oil, rolled oats and 1 tablespoon of dried sage leaves and honey, in a bowl.
  2. Mix till well combined.
  3. Apply the scrub as usual during our shower routine.

5. Salt Scrub 

Epsom salt is used to relieve strained muscles and tension in the body. It stimulates blood flow and eliminates toxins from the body.  

How To Do It:

  1. Combine 1 cup of Epsom salt and a few drops of jojoba oil and any other essential oil of your choice.
  2. Mix till well combined and you get a coarse paste.
  3. Gently massage the paste in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Wash off with look warm water.

6. Healing Haldi Scrub

Turmeric is one of the most popular natural beauty ingredients used in India. It has strong antiseptic and antibacterial properties, which help maintain your skin at its youngest best.

How To Do It:

  1. Mix 1 cup of sugar, 1½ cup of coconut oil and 2 tablespoons of haldi in a bowl.
  2. Mix till it forms a coarse paste.
  3. Gently massage the paste in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Wash off with look warm water.
  5. Avoid keeping the scrub on for a long time as it will stain your skin.

7. Vanilla Sugar Scrub 

Who doesn’t love the warm fragrance of vanilla? And adding it to your shower products is a bonus! 

How To Do It:

  1. Combine 1 cup of brown sugar, white sugar, olive oil, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract.
  2. Try using pure vanilla extract to avoid any skin irritation.
  3. Mix well till it forms a coarse paste.
  4. Gently massage the paste in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Wash off with look warm water.

8. Coffee Body Scrub

Coffee is rich in antioxidants which help fight cellulite while olive oil in this scrub penetrates deep into your skin, hydrating it and keeping it healthy.

How To Do It:

  1. Combine ¼ cup of ground coffee, sugar, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 3 vitamin E capsules.
  2. Mix till well combined.
  3. Use your fingers to gently massage the mixture, in circular motions, for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Wash off with warm water.

9. Cleansing Green Tea Scrub

How To Do It

  1. Mix 2 tablespoons of matcha green tea, ¼ spoon of baking soda and sesame oil in a bowl.
  2. Mix well and apply this scrub to your body.
  3. Gently massage for 2-3 minutes and rinse with warm water.

10. Rose Petal Scrub 

Rose is an ingredient that is used to fight dull skin. Rosewater is an excellent toner and it’s an even better body scrub. 

How To Do It:

  1. Combine 1 cup of almond flour, besan or rice flour with 1 tablespoon of dried rose petals and rose tea. You can also use hibiscus tea.
  2. Combine well with a little water to form a thick paste.
  3. Apply to your dry body and remove with a damp cloth.
